In an effort to create a more sustainable and cost-effective work environment the Bergenfield Board of Education has passed a resolution to go paperless. The five members of the school board and the four-member administrative cabinet will leave paper operations behind in exchange for laptops and wireless mice reports NorthJersey.com. The initiative, passed in April and publicly announced this month, will provide board members with the same laptops used by their students.

The town of Ajax approves e-voting

Beginning with elections in October Ajax will become the largest municipality in Canada to embrace e-voting. Though online voting was pioneered by near-by Markham, Ajax will be unique in its decision to go paperless in that Markham has only opened up e-voting for advance voters.

The wait time to be one of the approximately 17 percent of applicants accepted into Georgetown University may drop in the future as the school has recently adopted an online-based application process in an effort to eliminate the manual paper application process of the past.
