Recent college grads can benefit from going paperless

Information Daily recently reported that while universities can streamline operations by going paperless, today's college graduates need to be up-to-date on a variety of digital, paper-eliminating technologies as well. According to a recent article by TapScape contributor Drew Hendricks, there are several ways in which recent college grads can commit to going paperless and improving enterprise content management.

Rolodexes are a thing of the past, Hendricks wrote. Members of the modern workforce today need to know how to store contact info digitally to be as effective as possible. Still, some people use business cards, so he suggested that networkers take a picture or scan cards to make sure they hold onto email addresses and phone numbers without having to worry about the card itself.

Hendricks also pointed out that most workplace operations, from payroll to invoicing, can be done electronically. Young professionals who want to separate themselves from the crowd at their office should try recommending paperless solutions as a way for the business to cut costs and increase efficiency. With the increased presence of  tablets and smartphones in offices and boardrooms around the country, recent graduates who know how to use document imaging software and other programs to eliminate paper can demonstrate their value to employers.
