One community allows document access post-Sandy

Many areas on the East Coast were battered last month as a result of Hurricane Sandy, which caused extensive damage to coastal homes and businesses. Businesses that thought ahead and were able to store important documents online using electronic document management systems were most likely able to access their mission critical files even if their storefront was washed away.

However, consumers and companies that did not use these tools, may be experiencing more difficulty picking themselves back up after the storm. Luckily, Suburban News reported, New Jersey's Union County Clerk, Joanne Rajoppi, is allowing county residents to obtain copies of their personal documents for free from her office for a limited time after the storm.

While this is very beneficial for those whose home deeds, birth certificates and other files were lost in the hurricane, others have not been so fortunate. For example, business owners in the area may have lost important financial records or contracts.

Using conversion services can help business owners avoid these kinds of problems in the future should other storms threaten companies.
