Alachua County removing paper and improving transparency {VIDEO}

In Florida, one county is working on improving its transparency.

Alachua County is going paperless. And in the process, the local government is providing people with greater access to documents such as financial records.

The county will upload monthly, quarterly and annual financial documents for public viewing.

The county has very specific requirements for the paperless transition. A web-based, enterprise-wide solution that will improve workflow, enhance reporting capabilities and reduce dependence on third-party applications is required.

Also, going paperless is expected to improve the productivity of the county’s employees. Soon the Alachua government will implement software that will process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
