Starting in January 2015, E-Verify will begin purging records over 10 years old, so businesses should back up the files they will need with document management software.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that E-Verify records created on, or before, December 31, 2004, will be available for download until the new year starts.

Once 2015 starts, employers will no longer have access to cases opened the system a decade ago or more.

Backing up files digitally protects documents from being lost or destroyed and now that E-Verify isn’t doing it for you, it would be smart to look into document storage solutions.
