Jets’ season ticket holders will receive electronic smart cards

The New York Jets have joined several other professional football teams in an effort to implement paperless ticketing, reported the Trentonian. Season ticket holders will no longer have a use for paper tickets, and will receive additional benefits as well. 

Owners of season tickets will receive a smart card, instead of paper versions. Accounts will be managed through an online portal. 

Teams that have already integrated a form of paperless ticketing include the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs. 

The Jets have been considering making this move for some time. 

"We are looking at some paperless ticket solutions," the Jets' President Neil Glat told Bloomberg in 2012. "That would include how you get in the stadium, but it could be cashless transactions, it could be how you buy merchandise, it could be how you buy food."

As a part of the program, fans will also build bonus points as that will afford them certain privileges. These points can be accumulated through attending enough games and going to preseason games. Long-term season ticket holders will also receive recognition through the rewards program. 

"We are saying that we want you there and will reward you for coming, for cheering your lungs out," said Seth Rabinowitz, the Jets' vice president of marketing and fan engagement. "Hopefully, these rewards are like pennies from heaven."

The fans won't be the only one's getting a little extra this upcoming season either. Transitioning to a content management services that allows users to to control documents digitally can provide a multitude of benefits.
