One county in Virginia is making 200 years of court history with a computer.

The Wise County and Norton Circuit Clerk of Courts office announced that it is making a whole series of documents created between 1856 and 2014 available online.

For example, criminal and civil case files, real estate transfer deeds and will and probate files will all be available 24/7 to remote subscribers.

That will make Wise Circuit the first in the state to make its entire archive of these files accessible online all the time.

The switch to document storage services is expected to enhance both efficiency and productivity for the lower courts in the county.
