Warehouse fire shows risks of paper storage {VIDEO}

The burning question in New York these days is why hasn’t the city digitized its records following a warehouse blaze in Brooklyn.

After warehouses were damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, one would think the city would prioritize a move to document management software to handle its records.

Various heath care facilities and state departments stored records in the warehouse.

In the wake of the blaze, papers containing peoples’ personal information were scattered by the wind through area surrounding the burned-out building.

Earlier in the week a disaster recovery team sorted through thousands of records scattered across a nearby jetty.

Paying to clean up the consequences of a setback such as the recent Brooklyn fire can be expensive. For advice on using content management systems to avoid losing important files, visit Image One!
